The Nacarkekia children’s cushion tells the story of a man who appears lazy at first glance but is exceptionally clever. The illustrations trace Nacarkekia’s journey from idly stirring ashes by the hearth to defeating the Devi. In the illustration, a victorious Nacarkekia sits on the frightened Devi, clearly showing that courage and intelligence can overcome immense strength. It is a story about wit, through which Nacarkekia not only finds happiness for himself, but also returns to his brothers and shares his wealth with them.
