The children’s throw blanket “Natsarkekia” tells the story of a man who may seem lazy at first, yet is exceptionally clever and quick-witted.
The illustrations featured on the blanket follow Natsarkekia’s journey, from sitting by the hearth and poking at the ashes to defeating the Devi, the giant from the tale. The collection includes the story’s most recognizable elements: the hearth, his bundle and cloak, castles and towers, and the soft cheese he used to trick the Devi before chasing him far beyond the nine mountains.
At the centre of the design, Natsarkekia sits triumphantly on the frightened Devi, showing that intelligence and courage can overcome even the greatest physical strength.
It is a story about wit and resourcefulness. With his cleverness, Natsarkekia not only found happiness for himself, but also returned to his brothers and shared his newfound wealth with them.
