In the Bardzimi collection, we translated the graphic relief and ornamental composition of the historical Bedia Chalice into contemporary design. While developing the pieces, we focused on the intricate metalwork details and motifs influenced by Byzantine art.
For our inspiration, we turned to a 999 AD masterpiece of medieval Georgian goldsmithing, commissioned by King Bagrat III and his mother, Queen Gurandukht. By studying this treasure, we created pieces that bring the aesthetics of ancient ecclesiastical art into everyday life.
