Design translates the graphic motifs of the traditional blue tablecloth and the centuries-old character of indigo block-printing onto fabric. With its forgiving and practical nature, this cloth absorbed drops of burgundy wine into its deep blue hues, keeping its character ready for new gatherings.
In 17th-century Tbilisi households, hospitality was unimaginable without the blue tablecloth. In creating this piece, we drew upon the memory of this storied textile, carrying forward the centuries-old tradition of welcoming guests.
