Niko Pirosmani's paintings show the life and customs of Tbilisi in the 19th-20th centuries. The artist spent his whole life lonely, in poverty and did not find appreciation in his life. The Zdanevich brothers made a great contribution to the popularization of his work. In 1912, they discovered the artist's work in a cafe in Tbilisi, and years later they brought it to Picasso, who dedicated a portrait to Pirosman in 1972. In the second half of the 20th century, Pirosman was already known as an avant-garde artist in the European society. Niko's works have seen the light of day at many international exhibitions, including - in 1969 at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The passage of time has brought even more recognition to the artist's work - in 2018, an exhibition at the Albertina Museum in Vienna was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Pirosman's death.
