About Us

We search for old artefacts from Georgian museum archives, dusty library shelves to remote mountain village homes – giving a new life to our finds by transforming them into everyday-use accessories. Our products carry a main purpose – to popularize old traditions and art, that may seem forgotten.

If you want to find out more about Georgia, Georgian Supra (feast) is probably the best choice - that’s why our first collection was the blue tablecloth. The blue tablecloth has become popular in Tbilisi since the 19th century, when almost every family used it for special occasions and celebration matters. Manufacturing technology was authentic - cotton fabric was dyed using indigo paint and then decorated with traditional ornaments. The color blue was chosen to prove tablecloth from easily staining with wine drops. Since then, traditional tablecloth has become indivisible attribute of our 400 year hospitality.

Bluetabla’s collection includes tablecloths and dinnerware sets decorated with the unique Goergian alphabet. Georgian writing system evolution has created three types of scripts: Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri and Mkhedruli, which has harmonically coexisted and developed for centuries. In 2016, UNESCO granted these three writing systems status of humanity's cultural heritage, along with Georgian polyphonic singing and wrestling.
