The appearance of the Holly Blue on Georgia’s slopes is a sign of spring. The Holly Blue is a very fast butterfly, yet it is characterized by an amazingly delicate flutter. On dewy meadows, it is joined by the Purple-edged Copper; on the underside of its wings, it has small eyespots that it uses for protection and to gain a mystical appearance.
